WooCommerce allows store owners to create variable products like a T-Shirt with different Colors by default. But what if you want to show all color variations of your T-Shirt directly in your shop & category pages as single products? We show you how and why you should show single variations directly. But let us start first with a small explanation.

What are Variable Products & Variations?

A variable product can be anything from a t-shirt to a set of AirPods. Items might be largely identical. However they can differ in color and size. In the right image you can see a WooCommerce variable product example. It is a shoe where you can select the color of the shoe: black or brown. The color variations are then the variations of the product. They can include your own picture, SKU and price.

If customers now browse for example the category shoes they will not see the variations directly. Your users only see the main product name “variable shoe” and after they click on it they can select different options.

Why you should show variations in your shop loop

Amazon, eBay and all other large online shops show variations as single products as of today. Why? Well there are several reasons:

  1. It is easier and more convenient for a user to see all options directly
  2. Customers can directly jump to their favorite product (e.g. color red)
  3. User can add variations to cart directly from your shop loop
  4. It increases your SEO power as you avoid duplicate text in your product descriptions
  5. You will get more sales through direct sales
  6. Customer satisfaction and user experience will increase

WooCommerce Show Variations As Single Products Plugin

Showing your variations directly as single products is not that easy to be done. A variation needs to be assigned to product categories, tags, attributes first. Otherwise they will never appear in your category pages for example. But then you might also want to show the attributes of your variation product in the shop loop. So not only “Variable Shoe”, but “Variable Black Shoe”.

This either requires a lot of custom coding or you decide yourself to spend some money for a plugin. Our show variations as single products plugin costs only $19 and will do all this stuff for you.

So what are you waiting for? Increase your sales by showing variations directly as single products.
